How to Arrive

You can arrive to Talavera de la Reina by train or by car from Madrid. The city has a train stop that connects it with Madrid main station (Atocha) in 1 hour and a half. For this reason, the easiest way to arrive is by taking an airplane to Madrid and then take the train or a bus.

Arriving from Madrid

If you choose travelling to Madrid, which is the nearest city, this is what you have to do in order to get to Talavera de la Reina. Once you have landed on the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, you have to decide between arriving by car or by train to Talavera:

By car

You can rent a car in the airport to get to Talavera by road. It's 135km in aproximately 1 hour and a half. You can check the route by clicking here.

By train

For arriving to Talavera by train, you need to find a mean to transport you to the Atocha train station. These are your options:

Taxi. It costs 30 € and takes 30 minutes.

Underground. It costs about 5€ and takes between 45 and 60 minutes. However, it’s not a recommended option because you have to transfer twice before reaching Atocha.

Airport bus. It costs 5€ and takes 40 minutes. This is the cheapest option. More information available on this link.

After arriving to the train station, you have to buy the tickets for the train to Talavera. In the station, look for the customer office that is located on the ground floor. There, on the queue for next departures wait for your turn. Depending on the day, these trains departure every two hours. For more information about tickets or schedules, this page can be visited. Finally, once you are in Talavera, you can order a taxi in the street in front of the train station entrance, where the cabstand is.
